Architecture Rotterdam
The reconstructed town of Rotterdam is a good example of post-war modern architecture. The city was destroyed during the bombing of May 10th 1940, and has been under construction for the past 60 years. Prominent architects were commissioned. The Lijnbaan, the Euromast, the Kubus Woningen (Cube Houses) and the Markthal are special features. Interesting is the Sonneveld Huis, the home of the director of the Van Nelle factory (UNESCO World Heritage), designed by the same architect and still in the original state of Het Nieuwe Bouwen, complete with Gispen furniture.
EXCURSION City Walk Rotterdam Manhattan aan de Maas
We will meet our City Guide Jan at the startingpoint of this excursion Rotterdam’s new Central Station. During our walk through the city you will encounter exceptional structures, modern high-rise buildings, rezoned areas and converted warehouses. We use the high speed watertaxi and visit the SS Rotterdam a former Holland America Line schip.

Den Haag Architecture
The Hague boasts a large number of well-preserved buildings in Jugendstil style, but also presents modern ministry buildings and offices designed by well-known contemporary architects as Koolhaas, Graves and Kolhoff. Master-builder Berlage designed a large number of buildings in The Hague, including the Kunstmuseum.
EXCURSION Surprising Den Haag City Walk
We will meet our City Guide Jan at the starting point of this excursion, the updated hall of The Hague Central Station. During our walk through the city you will see 21st century high-rise buildings alternated with mediaeval gouvernment buildings on Binnenhof. The 20th century town hall was a revolutionary design for that time.
We will also saunter through the famous 19th century “Passage” and the elegant shopping streets.
