Excursion Rijksmuseum with Guide Jan
The Rijksmuseum is brought back in its restored 19th-century state. You will find many masterpieces from Dutch masters, especially from the Golden Age in the Netherlands. But also works from other periods like the 19th century.
A million pieces
More than a million pieces are on show over many rooms. During the tour you will hear what makes these works so special. This explanation makes it clear how visible reality always has been interpreted by painters.
Rembrandt van Rijn
The most famous painting by Rembrandt van Rijn is The Night Watch, which we find centrally in the hall of honor. You will also see The Jewish Bride and The Steel Masters, portraits by Johannes Wtenbogaert and Maria Trip and various self-portraits by Rembrandt. All works are equally special and virtuoso painted.
You can also admire beautiful work by many other famous painters. The Rijksmuseum exhibits four works by Vermeer, of which the Milkmaid and the Little Street are the most famous.
EXCURSION 17th century, Golden Age & Diamond cutting
You will meet your City Guide Jan and start our tour with a visit to a diamond cutting factory. We hear all about diamonds and how to value them. In the Rijkmuseum you get a good impression of life in wealthy circles in the 17th century, thanks to the artworks that were made in the 17th century. It is more than paintings, we also look at furniture and porcelain. We see Rembrandt’s The Night Watch and Vermeer’s Milkmaid.
